This is a supportive space where women’s health concerns are heard, normalized, and thoughtfully addressed.

Pelvic Health and Pelvic Organ Prolapse Care
Pelvic health is an important part of overall wellbeing and can be affected by pregnancy, childbirth, hormonal changes, and aging. These changes may lead to symptoms such as pelvic pressure, a vaginal bulge, or bladder and bowel concerns.
Pelvic organ prolapse is common and varies in severity. Management is individualized and often does not require surgery. At Lakeside Women’s Health, we provide comprehensive assessment and conservative, non-surgical management of pelvic organ prolapse, including pessary care, education, and ongoing support—helping you maintain comfort, function, and quality of life.

Stephanie MacGowan MScN, NP-PHC
Lakeside Women’s Health was founded in response to the need for accessible, comprehensive, and compassionate care for women. Women’s health concerns are too often minimized, overlooked, or addressed in fragmented ways. This clinic offers a dedicated space where women are heard, supported, and provided with thoughtful, evidence-informed care.
I am a Nurse Practitioner with over nine years of experience in primary health care and a strong commitment to supporting women’s health across the lifespan. My practice focuses on patient-centred care for women from adolescence through post-menopause.
My clinical interests include the assessment, diagnosis, and ongoing management of a broad range of women’s health concerns, including menstrual irregularities, pelvic pain, pelvic organ prolapse, mood disorders, and perimenopause and menopause care.
I have completed additional training in contraception care, including subdermal implant and intrauterine device (IUD) insertions, endometrial biopsy, and medical abortion services, as well as specialized training in pelvic health. This includes conservative management of pelvic organ prolapse, pessary fitting, and pelvic floor function. I am committed to providing compassionate, respectful care in an environment where women feel informed, empowered, and confident in their health decisions at every stage of life.

Please note:
Nurse Practitioners are regulated primary care providers in Ontario; however, current provincial funding and billing models do not allow Nurse Practitioner–led clinics to bill the Ontario Health Insurance Plan (OHIP) directly. This gap in access means services at Lakeside Women’s Health are offered on a private-pay basis. Receipts are provided, and some services may be reimbursable through extended health benefits.
